CORAZON SPONSORS YOUTH HEART CAMP EVENT
June 9, 2005 - Pittsburgh, PA—What: Heart Camp 2005. Corazon Consulting, a national leader in providing specialized consulting services to hospitals for development of cardiac and vascular programs, is sponsoring a Hawaiian Luau at 8:00 PM on Thursday, June 16 th, at Heart Camp, which provides an opportunity for patients of it’s client, Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, that are 8-16 years old and have heart disease, to enjoy four days of medically supervised outdoor fun. At the Luau Corazon heart experts will provide the media with heart disease statistics and facts to highlight the importance of early childhood prevention and Dr. William Neches of Children’s Hospital and the founder of Heart Camp will summarize American Heart Association recommendations to help parents keep their children’s hearts healthy and strong.

When: Heart Camp 2005, Hawaiian Luau is Thursday June 16th at 8:00 PM.
(Heart Camp takes place Tuesday, June 14 th through Saturday, June 18 th.)
Where: Camp Kon-O-Kwee, a YMCA camp in Fombell , PA , is l ocated along the banks of the Connoquenessing Creek, 30 miles north of Pittsburgh , just west of Zelienople.
Background: Heart disease affects approximately 1% of all children born in the U.S. , yet very few children with heart disease are aware of others with the similar problems. The annual, medically supervised Heart Camp provides a 4-day overnight camping adventure for children to interact with their doctors, nurses and peers in a non-medical setting and includes a variety of typical summer time activities. Corazon Consulting, a leading researcher and strategic advisor to hospitals for cardiovascular program development, will provide the media with heart disease statistics and facts to highlight the importance of prevention in healthy children and adults.
