"Hospitals Gird for Revenue Reductions with Pay Rate Revisions"

Western Pennsylvania hospitals, and others across the country, are bracing for an overhaul in the way the federal government pays for inpatient care, the biggest change since Medicare's reimbursement formula was developed in 1984. Effective October 1, CMS will revise the payment schedule for all DRGs. Corazon was interviewed about the effect that the 2008 DRG system will have on hospital reimbursement for cardiovascuar services.
